Reimagining Paris’ abandoned subway stations

Possibilities to reappropriate abandoned spaces

The mayoral candidate Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet wishes to enable Parisians to reappropriate abondoned spaces.

Known as “ghost stations” in Paris, these unused Metro stations have a lot of potential to be converted into functional spaces, such as swimming pools, auditoriums and nightclubs.

Designed by Manal Rachdi and architectural planner Nicolas Laisné, these hypothetical projects would allow Parisians to reclaim these abandoned public spaces and enhance urban life.

If elected, [Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet] plans to launch a “co-creation” platform that would allow the public to submit their ideas about how these ghost stations should be used.

What other uses can you think of for these abandoned subway stations?
