Part urban think tank, part community center and public gathering space, the BMW Guggenheim Lab traveled globally to inspire new ways of thinking about urban life. It is the result of a collaboration between the Guggenheim Museum and BMW.
Creatively a lively contemporary public forum, the structure accomodates a variety of public events, including film screenings, lectures and workshops. Screens and furniture attach to tracks on the main frame, allowing for constant spatial reconfigurations. Curtans span the full length of the space, creating flexible partitions as needed. A tent made of carbon fiber and mesh fabric serves as an engaging urban playhouse for the communities who visit.
