Dedicated to motor racing legend Enzo Ferrari, this museum comprises exhibiton spaces within his original nineteenth-century house, and an adjoining, newly constructed workshop and exhibition building. Sensitive to the existing historical context, the Modena yellow addition combines the latest in construction and energy-saving technology, while channeling the spirit, language and materials of the cars it showcases. The sculpted yellow alumnium roof, the first of its kind, incorporates ten incisions that both celebrate a car’s intake vents and allow for natural air circulation and day lighting.
